Our synagogue Education Officer is Rabbi Zalud who works in conjunction with Norman Crane to conduct our adult education programme.
Conversion
One section of our adult education programme involves the presentation of classes for conversion to Reform Judaism. Before being considered for admittance to classes, prospective proselytes must undergo a process demonstrating commitment to Judaism culminating in interviews with the Rabbi before acceptance onto the training course. Actual conversion is then at the behest of the Beth Din (the religious court) of the Movement for Reform Judaism and can only be finalised after an interview of the candidate by three members of the Beth Din.
Further Education
For Jewish Adults, we have combined our efforts with Jackson's Row central Manchester Synagogue, and are conducting a "Community of Learners" education series. The first meetings have taken place at Jackson's Row with more to follow there and at Sha'arei Shalom.
