Religion School

A flourishing Religion School, the Chevrat Ha'yeled is held throughout the academic year, on Sunday Mornings at 10.00am in the Synagogue and we cater for Children from 4 years old in our nursery class raising to 12 - 13 year olds in the Bar & Bat Mitzvah class. In addition to Sunday mornings, the Bar & Bat Mitzvah class meet during the week for additional tuition. Girls and boys enjoy equal rights in all respects and all are entitled to be Bar or Bat Mitzvah after their thirteenth birthday.

No charge is made to members for Hebrew education.

The Chevrat Hayeled has the full  and active support of a P.T.A

Family Services

Once each month, usually the second Shabbat of the month, a Family Shabbat Morning Service is held. The service is conducted with the full family in mind and younger members are encouraged to take part, sometimes conducting those parts of the service which are within their capabilities.

On the High Holy Days, the children meet in the Synagogue's Beit Ha'Medresh for their own services, joining their parents and the rest of the congregation for the closing stages of the "full" service. A crèche is also organized for the even younger congregants. For 2005 a crèche will be available on First Day Rosh Hashanah commencing at 10:30 am and on Yom Kippur from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm. Children's services will be conducted on First Day Rosh Hashanah from 10:30 until 11:30 am and on Yom Kippur from 11:00 am until 12 noon.

Youth Activities

We are affiliated to the RSY Netzer movement. Youth Club meetings are organized at Jackson's Row Synagogue in Central Manchester and our members are automatically eligible for inclusion in all of the events and activities.
